As the attention towards lab safety continues on an upward trend at Georgia Tech, it is important to honor those individuals who really make this a mission of theirs.  This is certainly the case for Dr. Pamela Pollet.

Dr. Pollet was presented with Safety Ambassador Award in a presentation at the EHS Building on Friday, March 3rd by Nazia Zakir (AVP, EHS) and Ryan Lisk (Lab and Chem. Safety Officer, EHS) where many of her colleagues and EHS staff were on hand to show their appreciation for her dedication to safety.

Dr. Pollet has been collaborating with EHS on many safety issues as the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry’s Safety Program Coordinator. Many advances in lab safety have been made under her leadership, including joint safety inspections. Dr. Pollet also provides critical input to risk assessments for highly reactive chemicals. She has been a critical piece of the School’s development and consequent teaching of safety-specific graduate courses.  Dr. Pollet also serves on many safety-critical faculty/staff committees for both the School and the Institute.

EHS looks forward to continuing the great working relationship built with our research colleagues and hopes that the working relationship built with Dr. Pollet can be the template for much of our collaboration efforts with other Schools at Georgia Tech.
