The Biosafety Occupational Health Program (BOHP) is a subset of the Occupational Health Program, concerned specifically with worker wellbeing and occupational exposures associated with biological materials and animals. The enrollment process is outlined below.

Who should enroll?

Anyone working with animals or biological materials or conducting animal research as part of their assigned responsibilities should enroll. The Risk Assessment should be updated if new biological materials or animal species are added to the scope of an individual's assignments.

How to enroll?

  1. Complete the confidential exposure risk assessment at EHSA
    1. Select "Browse New Forms"
    2. Select "Georgia Tech Biosafety Occupational Health Program" and click "Start"
    3. Complete and submit the assessment
    4. You will receive a confirmation email with your completed risk assessment attached after completion. 
  2. Download and complete the fillable information packet 
    1. Complete and sign each form
    2. Download and save the completed packet 
  3. Draft an email to midtown@concentra.com with “GA TECH BOHP” in the subject line and attach a copy of your risk assessment and information packet. 

What happens after enrollment?

A healthcare professional with Concentra will review your packet and provide recommendations to the GT Biosafety office. The GT Biosafety office will review their recommendations and will make a final recommendation to the enrollee on the Risk Assessment Review.

What will EHS recommend?

The Biosafety Office will include required training for the individual as well as recommended vaccinations or physical exams if any.

Participation after enrollment?

You MUST complete all required training

You will decide whether or not you elect to receive the recommended vaccines or physical exam.

However, you MUST submit your acceptance form to enroll in the BOHP.[
